Scientific advances in the 21st century have led to major breakthroughs in the understanding of death. One in five survivors of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) who are revived back to life recall experiencing a heightened and transcendent state of consciousness that often follows a specific narrative arc. What can these remarkable experiences ultimately tell us about the nature of human con...

Both religion and spirituality can cause a mental health problem, sorry to say...but we don't need that, there is another way you can do that and it's not people believing in a superhuman being or a God...I hope there is a research being done on that...we humans are the cause of what we go through nothing with spiritual or God.... 😒

She said peoples brains arent working. I know a lot of those people and a lot less people with functioning brains. Even an intelligent person I know still has a broken brain. Hes closed minded and believes only one of the religious dogmas. Hes asleep and hes brain washed politically too but he thinks hes so brilliant and aware. Hes so far from that. How do you wake up someone in a coma?

Nobody has a concept of nothing accept mathematicians: Physicists, Theologians, average joe just haven't got a clue. Proper nothing can't become something ever. So as we are here, we've always been something, so nothing never exisited. That is justt mind boggling.

Without Kṛṣṇa, matter cannot develop. Atheistic scientist say that life comes from matter, but that is nonsense. Matter is one energy of Kṛṣṇa, and spirit is another. The spirit is superior energy, and matter is inferior energy. The matter develop when the superior energy is present. Teachings of QUEEN KUNTī

If we are nothing more but our brain, then why do people with virtually no brain still function normally and exhibit high intelligence as if they still had a full brain? Why do people who suffer from dementia, alzheimer's show most consciousness and awareness shortly before their deaths as their brains are dying? Clearly something interesting is going on here that simply don't fit with the materialism paradigm.

Kevin is typical of the materialist scientist who insists on strong objectivity as proof or compelling evidence of an independent consciousness state beyond the body. The consciousness enquiry lies at the heart of a 400 year old enquiry onto what SCIENCE can know. It arose out of investigations of distant objects - the curved horizon proving the world is a globe, the movement of planets showing geocircunnavigation of the sun. What seems like a simple challenge is anything but simple and is the biggest strength of the materialist : any layman can identify with the common sense standpoint of materialism yet that standpoint has been controversial for over a hundred years now and is breaking down. By doing that it is forcing a paradigm shift in the understanding of scientific METHOD. This shift in method is being forced by new facts. Some facts are mainstream and massively supported by experimental data : the role of consciousness in causing wave function collapse in quantum mechanics, for instance, remains the best explanation of many even though we do not know what consciousness IS scientifically, we can only experience it so far. Quantum theory has in fact destroyed the subject object divide so that strong objectivity (prove that something exists because it is outside the mind) has in fact collapsed since about 1930. Since we dont understand what mind / consciousness we carry on doing science pretending that its either a hallucination or a byproduct of brain activity but these viewpoints are very weak because of the implications of wave function collapse for our understanding of how reality actually EMERGES (it is not, in fact, objectively out there at all!) Materialist scientists rely on the fact that most people do not understand these issues so they a strongly objective challenge is easy to make and hard to counter to a non specialist audience. We have an increasingly vast array of anomalous data in science indicating that the materialist/ strong objectivity approach to experimental method may no longer be viable in these new horizons. NDEs and some OBEs are a strong body of such anomalous data. There are other data sets as well but for obvious reasons these experiences are now the focus of study. Linked to this is the conspicuous failure of neuroscience to explain or produce consciousness despite lots of blah. Strong objectivity is not, in fact, a very tenable standpoint today anyway and hasn't been since about 1900. A great deal about what is known or hypothesized about seriously in science is not directly observed by inferred from what is observed. From sub atomic particles to the quantum zero field horizon to bosons and neutrinos to Dark Energy and Dark Matter and a host of other content in the micro and macro contexts, we know next to nothing DIRECTLY about these phenomena. In the case of dark energy and dark matter, whatever they might be, we effectively do not observe directly about 96% of the known universe but have been obliged to postulate them because of the implications of KNOWN data such as the movements of galaxies on relation to gravity. In other words, inferring or populating objective content without directly observing them is widely practised and accepted mainstream science SO LONG AS THE DATA OR PHENOMENA ARE POSTULATED TO BE MATERIAL. What scientists are not accepting is a fundamental category of MENTAL / CONSCIOUSNESS independent of material or even more fundamental than material states. If science expanded its theoretical framework of explanatory evidence to include the independent reality of mental states or dimensions, then we would start to get somewhere with all this. In short, the problem with strong objectivity, experimental evidence and the burden of proof is that it requires a materialist basis for most scientists. There is no proof that reality is fundamentally material and increasing INDICATIONS from materialist data that it is not.

Interesting but this is more about studying the psychological aspects of sects than a deep discussion about what is the experience of God for the vast majority of people . A believer (or even just an agnostic) try every day to see the work of a superior consciousness in our reality... things that happen to us, obstacles we have, experiences we have, things we feel or even just things to see (watching something deeply meaningful and thinking "no, this cant be here by chance"). Does not need anything "magic". Because someone who searches for "God" in our existences has already chosen that the other option (reality is here by chance) is not acceptable.

Space-Time Is indeed Not Fundamental, but nor we understand the nature of consciousness to say that it is Fundamental. Sadly, evidence suggests that consciousness is an emergent property from complex memory.

To think things being reduced to that simple of a function when observed is understanding how it works is reductive arrogance... The worst kind.. If its observed by two perpendicular observers symotaniously.. Then what a diangle line? Does that sound like the path of the solutions to the universe.. Its obviously doing a whole bunch more in the interaction with the energy around it be observed.. Thats seems like a safeguard so monkeys cant play with Bazookas more than anything. From something beyond our comprehension of intelligence. To think .. that same quantum chaos governs our bodies at the Nuclear level ... That we are bungling around with right now... Much of the unkown may lies there about our own functions. Yet here we are ... I guess something is smart enough to only let us wipe out selves out with arrogance.. Thank God..

Peter doesn't get it --- we see what the bible says about eternal life and the soul. NOW let's looks at science right Peter? Physics shows us that the world we see is not what we think it is --- the PHYSICAL WORLD IS in our mind. Quantum physics shows particles have no position until they are observed aka measured. When I look at physics, the bible, and people' near death experiences it tells me that consciousness (our soul) does not die -- the physical body might die, but the material world is only something that exists in our minds to begin with. "In the beginning was the word, the word was with God and the word was a God". Gospel of John -- this is human consciousness.

This is seemingly due to the creativity this induces which lends itself to increased problem solving, especially around practical tasks. I wish l could do it every day but it really does only appear to work when done occasionally which is rather a bore because l have an addictive personality, for obvious reasons.

Starts feeling like double speak. We are all living in a Mandelbrot fractal then and nothing is created nor destroyed and new knowledge and discoveries are not discovered nor new, it just is. But there has to be a start or we wouldn’t exist. If there is a start then there has to be an end which means there has to be a consciousness with agency to create the existence, and that consciousness with agency has to have been born from something because things just can’t magically exist out of nothing. For ‘nothing’ to exist there has to be something. Then we’re back to the fractal of things 🤯

There are no solid answers in pure philosophy. What philosophy does do is teach us to ask better questions. Then we can take the skills we learn in philosophy to other fields where there are solid answers and get better answers.
